(IEEL), a company based at Cochin, Kerala started computer training through CADCENTER in July 1990 with the main objective of computerizing the engineering profession. Startup operations focused on training in CAD Software. AutoCAD was identified as the best choice and market leader in the world for PC based CAD operations, CAD Center applied to Autodesk Inc. USA, developer of AutoCAD, for ATC (Autodesk Training Center) status and became an ATC in 1992.

In the starting year itself, Autodesk Inc. recognized, CADCENTER for Excellence In The Area Of Instruction and the award was presented to Dr. M.R. Sreedharan Nair (Founder Director of CADCENTER and Former Principal and Professor of Mechanical Engg. Govt. Engg. College Trissur) in the 1993 Annual ATC Managers Meeting held at Anaheim, Los Angels, USA. CADCENTER, Cochin has been elevated to the status of an Advanced Training Center for Mechanical Products in 1999. Now the institute is an advanced training center of Autodesk for its Mechanical, Civil, GIS/Infrastructure and Multimedia products. Autodesk again honored the Institute with ATC Excellence Award 2005 for the best ATC in India. CADCENTER is one among 5 centers, which got the award from Asia Pacific region. The award was presented to Mr. Viju Antony P. (Managing Director of CADCENTER) at the Annual ATC meet held at Auckland, New Zealand.
